    Oppo Reno10 review

    Introduction

After the May introduction of the Reno 10 series in China, Oppo is currently touring the world with the family. There are three different Reno 10 models in total: the Pro, the Pro+, and the vanilla. The Pro+ model is the only one that hasn’t changed between the Chinese and international vanilla and Pro variants.

The international Reno10 version is here for inspection right now. Even the design is different from the Chinese namesake due to alterations that go beyond the internals.

Specs of the Oppo Reno10 in a nutshell:

    • Body: Glass front, plastic frame, glass rear; 162.4×74.2×8.0mm, 185g.
Display specifications: 6.70″ AMOLED, 1B colors, 120Hz, HDR10+, 500 nits (typical), 800 nits (HBM), 950 nits (peak), 1080x2412px resolution, 20.1:9 aspect ratio, and 394 ppi.
    • Mediatek MT6877V Dimensity 7050 (6 nm) chip with an octa-core (2×2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55) and Mali-G68 MC4 graphics processor.
    • Memory: UFS 2.2; microSDXC; 128GB 8GB RAM; 256GB 8GB RAM.
    • OS/Software: ColorOS 13.1, Android 13.
    • Rear camera specifications include the following: Wide (main): 64 MP, f/1.7, 25mm, 1/2″, 0.7m, PDAF; Telephoto: 32 MP, f/2.0, 47mm, 1/2.74″, 0.8m, PDAF, 2x optical zoom; and Ultra Wide Angle: 8 MP, f/2.2, 112 degrees, 1/4.0″, 1.12m.
    • 32 MP, f/2.4, 22mm (wide), 1/2.74″, and 0.8 m on the front camera.
    • Video recording: Front camera: 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS; rear camera: 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120/480fps.
    • Battery: 5000mAh; reverse wired; 67W wired; PD3.
    • 5G; Dual SIM; Wi-Fi 6; BT 5.3, aptX HD; NFC; Infrared port: the connectivity options.
    • Stereo speakers and a fingerprint reader (optical, under the display).

In essence, the international Reno10 is a midrange gadget built around the Dimensity 7050 chipset. The Chinese model, in comparison, makes use of the Snapdragon 778G. In addition, the international Reno10 is a little thicker (8mm) and a little heavier (185 grams) than the Chinese Reno10. This is most likely because the international Reno10 has a larger 5,000 mAh battery than the Chinese Reno10, which only has 4,600 mAh. Even though the international version charges at 67W as opposed to 80W, we doubt the practical difference is really significant.

The memory options for the worldwide Reno10 are also limited, only going as high as 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The Chinese version’s 12GB/512GB UFS 3.1 high tier is noticeably missing, but on the plus side, the international edition does include a microSD card for storage expansion. The stereo speaker arrangement is another advantage the international Reno10 has over its sister.

In a moment, we’ll return to the specifics. But first, let’s open the Oppo Reno10.

The Oppo Reno10 is packaged in the typical hefty, two-piece cardboard box. Although it is not particularly attractive, we can’t really complain because it is quite durable and has an interior plastic cradle to secure the phone.
There aren’t many accessories available. The phone does not come with a case or any other extras, but it does include a lovely USB Type-A to Type-C cable and a 67W SuperVOOC charger. If you wish to use the Reno10’s full charging speed, you must be mindful of the extra pin on the non-standard cable.
