    Infinix GT 10 Pro review

    Introduction and specifications

Infinix is not a new smartphone business, but it has only just begun to make inroads outside of Africa. As it grows its reach, the smartphone manufacturer strives to cover as many market sectors as possible, including specialized markets such as gaming devices. Enter the Infinix GT 10 Pro, a cheap phone that aims to combine amazing performance in a body that screams “gaming.”

The GT 10 Pro is quite similar to the Infinix Note 30 VIP, except it lacks charging features and has a different body and superior cooling. The new phone settles for 45W charging, which is slower than what the Note 30 VIP can achieve wirelessly. Because we already have the charging test for the VIP, you may use the rest of this review if you’re looking for the GT 10 Pro’s brother.

Let us now return to the review. The GT 10 Pro stands out thanks to its unique and appealing design. With its transparent back and LED illumination, it does remind us of the Nothing Phones (1) and (2), but the overall aesthetics are certainly different here.

Infinix GT 10 Pro specifications in brief:

    • Body dimensions: 162.7×75.9×8.1mm, weight: 187g; glass front, plastic back and frame; LED strip on rear.
    • 6.67″ AMOLED display with 1B colors, 120Hz, 900 nits (peak), 1080x2400px resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 395ppi.
    • Mediatek Dimensity 8050 (6 nm) chipset with Octa-core (1×3.0 GHz Cortex-A78 & 3×2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55); Mali-G77 MC9.
    • Memory: 256GB SSD with 8GB RAM; UFS 3.1; microSDXC (dedicated slot).
    • Android 13 and XOS 13 are the operating systems and software.
    • Wide (primary) camera: 108 MP, f/1.8, 1/1.67″, AF; Macro: 2 MP; Depth: 2 MP.
    • 32 MP front camera, f/2.5 (wide).
    • Video capture: 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps on the rear camera; 1440p@30fps on the front camera; 1080p@30/60fps on the front camera.
    • 5000mAh battery; 45W connected, PD3.
    • 5G; Dual SIM; Wi-Fi 6; Bluetooth; NFC; FM radio; 3.5mm jack.
    • Miscellaneous: Fingerprint reader (optical, under display); stereo speakers.

The presentation is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset. This is primarily a rebranded Dimensity 1300, which was one flagship-grade SoC announced just a few months ago. A bright 6.67-inch OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch-sampling rate of 360Hz round out the gaming experience.

Of course, a gaming phone would be incomplete without stereo speakers, and the GT 10 Pro includes DTS tuning for them.

Last but not least, the GT 10 Pro includes a 108MP main camera with a huge 1/1.67″ sensor, which is uncommon in this class. It’s the only fully functional camera at the back, but if it comfortably exceeds the competition, many will be prepared to forego an ultrawide shooter. We’ll talk about that later, but first, let’s open the box and see what’s inside.
